Greeting, welcome to the end of December. The official start of winter has passed. I've been sick for three weeks with who knows what this is. And it's colder than what is normally is this time of year.
This year started out with me being frustrated and I'm going to be ending this year in frustration. I thought my website renewed in March. However, that is the domain. So when I got an email telling me that my Weebly site was going to renew in a week. I realized I was screwed. So I'm probably not going to be leaving this place any time soon. It sucks. It feels like I can't make any plans as of late. I wanted to see how much it would cost to get Hy'Ruh-Ha edited and I circled back around to, well, I don't have the money. I can't justify it. So I want an assessment on what kind of editing would be best and that alone cost $1000+. This is just an assessment. Not actual editing. Editing will still be $1000+ so I would end up paying out $2000+ for a novel that I don't exactly want to sell and will probably never pay that money back. Basically, if I asked for say at least $2.99 for an ebook, I would have to sell nearly 700 copies. That's not happening. The odds are stacked against me. So honestly, I don't know what to do. I don't want to continue with serial writing. It's gotten me no-where. But being dyslexic, I don't have the privilege to just proofread a few times and think everything is going to be good. Not to mention, I'm writing a story in a genre that doesn't exist because years locking down writing in order to sell more books and limiting what kinds of stories that can be told. I think the solution would be the same solution as before. Just offer my books as download for free/pay what you want. I was thinking of using. Smashword/Direct-to-digital and Ko-fi. The reasons why, I rather have just tips. I don't want to set-up the whole tiers when I'm inconsistent and will likely go on long streaks without posting anything. When I have something, people can choose to give me money. A one time payment. No monthly subscription. Also, the ebooks will not be released all at once. I'll have some sort of schedule. Why not just release it on KU? Because I don't want to for reaon |
